when it comes to water, i'm like a cat. there's nothing i detest more than stepping out of the house in my favourite pumps with a perfect blowout only to have my spirits (and self!) dampened by the bombay rains!
this year, i decided that i'm done not having fun at the cost of the rain. so i went out on a little waterproof shopping spree, because really, what else can you do but buy the chicest rainwear you can find and power through?
for those of you who feel the same way, hill road is an absolute goldmine for cute rainwear! if you look hard enough, you'll find animal print umbrellas, sparkly jelly flats, printed wellies and chic trenches (because windcheaters are just SO gross!)
here's some friendly advice to help get you through the next three months :
(1) wehether you prefer ponchos, trenches, windcheaters or raincoats to cover up with, always make sure they're chic, cover well and are easy to stow away.
.
(2) always carry a foldable waterproof bag in your handbag to put your wet umbrella and cover-up into.
.
(3) pick an umbrella that's small, lightweight and fits into your bag. who needs the additional worry of leaving a large umbrella behind somewhere? bonus points for a bright hue to cheer you up on a gloomy day!
.
(4) leave your good footwear at home! now is the time to invest in waterproof flats!
.
(5) ditch the tiny handbags and get your 'everything but the kitchen sink' bags in to regular rotation.
.
{ jeans : gift from aunt, poncho : bought in spain, heels : random lokhandwala store, ring : bought in spain, bag : colaba, clear umbrella : hill road }

{ p.s : no, the heels aren't waterproof but i wore them anway. i'm stubborn like that. }
{p.p.s : ignore the hideous elastic bandage on my arm. i banged my hand up pretty badly and have to wear it for a while }
