Another year, another Bombay monsoon. Only this time, I’m juggling blogging, freelance assignments, fashion season (hello, September!), planning a wedding across two continents, getting my wedding dress designed AND applying for a visa all at the same time.

A couple of these are probably some of the biggest and most exciting things that will ever happen in my life, so to say that I have a lot on my plate at the moment would be an understatement. Which is why I have had to mix things up from my usual array of bright colours, prints and accessories and adopt a style strategy that is utilitarian, clean and hassle-free. My style security blanket, if you will.

Super easy to throw together in the morning before running errands, easy to change in and out of for dress fittings, polished enough for visa interviews and business meetings, I find that a not-so-basic shirt with a pair of comfy high waist trousers is functional and flattering. Adding a fringed bag and glitter jelly sandals are subtle attempts at injecting trends into my look, while still allowing me to be rain-ready in a flash!

I usually top it all off with a big clear umbrella or a pair of sunglasses, depending on whether the weather Gods are being kind to me or not! Here’s hoping for a bright, sunny day!

P.S: Here’s a first look at my engagement ring! Close-ups coming soon!

Like this a lot! Can I ask you what lip color you are wearing here? Looks great against your skin tone.
