The change in season always brings about a style metamorphosis, but when it comes to summer, I find myself wanting to walk on the wild side more often than usual.
When Guess asked me to style my favourite pieces from their new Spring / Summer collection, one look at the array of animal prints, acid brights and interesting textures and I knew I’d be looking to the rainforest for inspiration.
The rush of a cool waterfall cancelling out the rage of the sun, the almost omnipresent foliage (who knew there could be so many shades of green?), the colours of the creatures that call this haven their home – mother nature was on my side.
For my first look, I decided to make like a Green Basilisk lizard from Brazil by pairing a metallic snake print vest, my favourite piece in the whole collection, with a shirt in the colour of the year, Emerald Green. I topped it all off with critter jewellery for a smidgen of sparkle and spikes to help keep the look on-trend.
For my second avatar, I decided to take a page from a Scarlet Macaw’s style book and colour block cobalt with fiery orange and yellow. I then channeled my inner Amazonian with the highest heels I could find.
Which of these looks are you inspired by? Tell me all about it in the comments section!
Bisou bisou,
Anushka xx
